Winners announcement — let's grow Kenyan health together
Meet the winners of our Call For Change
We are excited to share the four projects that have been selected to receive funding and implementation support, as well as the projects that we will continue to support so that when the next funding opportunity rolls around, they can put their best foot forward.
How did we get here?
Our Call for Change launched in September of 2022—soliciting 73 applications from a diverse range of organisations, including AI experts, national universities, and community-based groups.
36 applicants were invited to our Idea Lab workshop
7 applicants built new relationships with county-level health promotion officers at the workshop.
4 proposals went on to be submitted by consortia formed during the workshop.
29 proposals were submitted
to the the Call For Change
60% include or represent underserved or minority populations or groups in Kenya.
73% were women-led organisations, or had over 50% of employees identify as women in non-admin roles.
Through a consultative process, our Advisory Committee, supported by partners from the Ministry of Health and Common Thread, reviewed and selected proposals that seek to:
Improve data collection and analysis at the county level
Improve health worker motivation through health service design
Bring counties in to health system coordination
Build skills and capacity for Health Promotion
